Our big girl has done it again! Matilda delivered the best Australian Cane spirit, two Golds and three Silvers for us at the Australian Distilled Spirits Awards last night. We are truly humbled by the recognition, James has not stopped smiling since and has not managed to put down the trophy. Here is the run down of what we won:
BEST AUSTRALIAN CANE SPIRIT: JimmyRum Navy
GOLD: JimmyRum Navy & JimmyRum Silver
SILVER: RumRum, JimmyRum Oaked and JimmyRum Spiced
Oh and we had a top four in the BEST VICTORIAN DISTILLERY
all the winners from last night. It was so great to see so many of our fellow distillers at the awards night, all being honoured for their amazing craftsmanship, passion and dedication. We are lucky to be in such good company
It's so great to get the recognition for our Navy, Silver and Oakes. They were the first three products produced by gorgeous still Matilda. Like all of our spirits they are all made to be enjoyed neat but we have had so much fun over the years creating a wide array of cocktails. You will find Navy in Jimmy's favourite cocktail the Hemingway Daiquiri, one not to be missed out on.
If you are new to cane spirits and rum a great way to start your JimmyRum journey is with our newly launched Pre-mixed cans. The pre-mixed cans come in four different mixes; Jimmy Comet and Pear Punch which is based on the Navy, Stormy Jimmy on the Silver, and the Dirty Spiced using our Spiced.
This has been a long time in the making and is our pride and joy. RumRum was recently recognised on the global stage as the best craft rum off a hybrid still at the World Rum Awards. Read more about this in our earlier blog post.
Wow! What a year it’s been so far. We are immensely proud of our RumRum Batch #2 winning gold for the World's Best Hybrid Still rum under five years, and took away overall winner in the hybrid still category.

And its doesn't end there, our Spiced picked up a bronze in the Worlds Best Traditional Spiced category which is one of the latest addition to our collection. It's fast becoming a firm favourite amongst our friends.

Located in Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, rum producer JimmyRum is the coastal region’s first craft rum distillery. It stands out in a landscape peppered with wineries: The peninsula, just an hour’s drive southeast of Melbourne, is known for its excellent Pinot Noir and other cool climate wines.
Our handcrafted cane spirit is the result of years of research, development, sweat, and running on pure passion, so it’s truly awesome to be recognised by our peers as an award-winning spirit. At JimmyRum we’re all about sharing; sharing rum, sharing stories, and sharing experiences.
Our first adventure into the world of Spiced Cane Spirit. We’ve spent many months testing different flavour directions, but ultimately, JimmyRum is all about showing “what rum can be” — so we figured it would be logical to start with the classic spiced rum flavours.
Spiced contains elements of apple, lime, orange, smoked vanilla, as well as a good dash of spice from nutmeg and cinnamon. Blended to be low on sweetness, you get more of the true JimmyRum flavour and it makes a great first step into the amazing world of rum.
It can be savoured over ice, combined with your favourite mixer, or step up your skills and drop it into a twist on a classic Pinot Colada or Mai Tai.
